Laura Brown

Senior Physiotherapist & Clinical Manager

I graduated from James Cook University in 2009. After graduating I worked in a hospital setting for 18 months. I then took an opportunity to work at an organisation supporting children with disabilities.

I started at Better Movement Clinic in 2018 to broaden my skills and challenge myself in other clinical areas. I have an interest in paediatrics, disability, neurological conditions, and chronic pain. I enjoy learning new skills in all these areas and working within a team to help clients achieve their goals. I particularly enjoy working with people to help them participate in their community and in activities that are meaningful to them.

I believe that every single person has something valuable to offer and I love to see clients reach their fullest potential.

Cameron Edwards

I completed my Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland in 2021 and started work at Better Movement Clinic after completing clinical placement here as a student.

I enjoy working with people of all ages and conditions, developing rapport and supporting them to best achieve their goals. I’m always looking to challenge myself across a range of clientele to provide the best quality care and have particular interest in sporting populations, paediatric, men’s health and musculoskeletal areas. I provide services in Toowoomba, Dalby and Chinchilla, as well as operating as the physiotherapist for the Darling Downs Panthers Netball Team.

I find it really rewarding to educate and guide people towards their best outcomes, returning to the activities they love through an enjoyable and engaging rehabilitation.

Maddison Hold

I graduated from James Cook Univeristy in 2022 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. Before my tertiary studies, I grew up and attended school in Toowoomba. I have always had a passion for helping people, sports, injuries and animals. After completing my bachelor I returned to Toowoomba to be closer to family.

I enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team here at the Better Movement Clinic and I wish to gain as much knowledge and experience to be able to help people in the best way as possible.

My interest areas are musculoskeletal physiotherapy, rural and remote practices and paediatrics.

Alex Grant

Physiotherapist

After graduating from Charles Sturt University Albury in late 2023, I made the move to sunny Queensland to start working as a Physiotherapist at Better Movement Clinic.

I enjoy working with people to make their everyday lives easier and help them to do what they’re passionate about to the best of their abilities. I place a huge importance on understanding what my client’s goals are to work towards these most effectively. I enjoy working with clients with a range of conditions but have a particular interest in working with clients to improve mobility and pain. I also thoroughly enjoy working with athletes to return to sport after injury. Being an equestrian myself, I have a very keen interest in equestrian sports and making sure these athletes can be their very best. I work at both Toowoomba and Dalby clinics.

I thoroughly enjoy having the chance to empower clients to improve their health through practical advice as well as exercise-based interventions to get great outcomes.

Scott Dean

Allied Health Assistant

I've been working in the Health and Food industry for the majority of my working life. I began my journey as a cook/chef after graduating High School back in 2006. After a while I moved into the Health sector and started working in Aged Care as a carer/AIN. I also cooked when I was in aged care. Over time I undertook further study and completed a Certificate 4 in Allied Health Assistant in 2010 which was a new qualification at the time. This qualification allowed me to work with Allied Health Professionals and soon I was working with Physiotherapists at the nursing home. I ran group exercises and did 1 on 1 therapy.

Ever since then I was interested in physical therapy and staying active. I began working with Better Movement Clinic in 2021 as an Allied Health Assistant and have been able to apply my knowledge and experience in this role.

I have recently completed my level 1 Strength and Conditioning course, which will allow me to work with athletes, but also improve my current knowledge and skill set. When I am not working, you can find me either working out, creating new dishes, or reading. I am a strong advocate in staying active and eating good food, so feel free in picking my brain.

Jessica Kennedy

Allied Health Assistant

I joined the BMC team in August 2022 as an Allied Health Assistant after deciding to make a complete career change from working in the QLD Public Sector after 15 years to working in the Allied Health industry.  I have been lucky enough to join the wonderful team at BMC while working towards completing my Certificate in Allied Health Assistance.

My career goal is to become a Dietician and I am currently completing a Bachelor of Food and Nutrition through La Trobe University on my way to achieving this. In the meantime, I am so grateful for the skills and experience I am gaining while supporting our clinicians and working with our wonderful and diverse community in both Toowoomba and Dalby. The best part of my job is seeing our clients improve their quality of life and reach their goals every day I come to work.

I’m enjoy the ability to continuing to grow within this space with my current enrolments with extended university course around Nutrition and Exercise courses.

Chloe Hampel

Senior Occupational Therapist

After studying a Bachelor of Sports Science and Human Movement I decided to pursue Occupational Therapy in Perth. After meeting a number of OTs through Uni and never knowing what they actually do, I heard about the endless job possibilities and haven't looked back. I've spent the past 6 years working within aged care, disability, paediatrics and behaviour support, developing a keen interest in paediatrics and working with neurodiverse individuals. I enjoy the nuances of working with individuals where no two people are the same, and getting creative with fun activities that work towards their unique goals.

Outside of the clinic I will always be trying to travel, explore new places and learn new languages. I'm new to Queensland and enjoying finding new places to visit here, but after three months in South America a couple of years ago I think its almost time for me to go back to brush up on my Spanish.

Meghan Maguire

Occupational Therapist

Originally from Townsville, (which does make me a loud and proud NQ Cowboys supporter) I moved down to Brisbane to attend the University of Queensland to complete my Occupational Therapy degree. I have always had a strong passion for Rural, Remote and Indigenous Health care and really aspire to be able to provide Occupational Therapy services regardless of the location. Once I graduated OT I was very excited to put this passion into practice and moved out to some rural communities in Queensland, including Emerald and Mount Isa, before moving up to the Territory to continue to learn and expand my clinical skills as well as to experience new opportunities within the world of OT. I have just started up with BMC in July 2023 and I am really excited to continue to broaden my skill set working alongside a dynamic multidisciplinary team providing services within the Western Downs region.

Natasha Scholefield

My career started in reception and administration for Better Movement Clinic in 2015.
